About Me

I am currently a tenure-track assistant professor at Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tongji University. In May 2024, I completed my PhD at the University of Ottawa, where I was fortunate to be advised by Prof. Yongyi Mao. Prior to Ottawa, I received my B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering and its Automation from North China Electric Power University (NCEPU). During Summer and Fall 2019, I was a research intern at National Research Council Canada (NRC).

My Erdős number is 4 (Wang -> Zhang -> Bhuiyan -> Hsu -> Erdős).

Research Interests

I am broadly interested in the theoretical foundations of machine learning, particularly in statistical learning theory and information theory. My main areas of focus include generalization theory, domain adaptation, and various aspects of trustworthy machine learning, such as privacy, fairness, and robustness.
